3. How we use your data

We process your personal data to:

  1. Create, authenticate and secure your account

  2. Deliver the core service — study plans, tests, evaluations, feedback, mentorship features and progress analytics

  3. Generate AI outputs such as answer evaluation, doubt resolution and recommendations (see Section 4)

  4. Process payments, manage subscriptions and comply with tax and accounting law

  5. Provide customer support and respond to your queries

  6. Send service communications (renewals, security alerts, product changes) — these are not marketing and you cannot opt out of them while you hold an account

  7. Send marketing communications where you have opted in — you can opt out at any time

  8. Detect, investigate and prevent fraud, abuse, credential sharing and security incidents

  9. Understand aggregate usage patterns to improve the Platform

  10. Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms and Conditions Legal basis. We rely on your consent, and where applicable on “certain legitimate uses” under the DPDP Act — including performing the service you have signed up for, complying with law, and responding to security incidents.

4. AI processing

Evoluter uses artificial intelligence models to evaluate your answers, generate feedback, resolve doubts and adapt your study plan. You should understand the following: Your submissions are processed by AI systems. Answer scripts, essays, questions and performance data are passed to our models to generate the output you asked for. We operate our own domain-specific model. A substantial part of processing runs on models hosted and operated by or for Evoluter, rather than being sent to third-party AI providers. Where third-party AI services are used, we send only the data necessary for that feature and we contractually require those providers not to use your content to train their general-purpose models. A current list of such providers is available on request at team@evoluter.in. We may use anonymised and aggregated learning data — with direct identifiers removed — to improve our own models, question banks and evaluation quality. If you do not want your content used for model improvement even in de-identified form, write to us and we will exclude your account. AI output can be wrong. Evaluations, scores and explanations are guidance, not authoritative assessment, and must not be treated as an official or guaranteed indicator of exam performance.

5. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as set out below. Service providers (processors). Cloud hosting and storage, payment gateways (including Razorpay), email and SMS delivery, analytics, error monitoring, and customer support tooling. These providers act on our instructions under written contracts and may not use your data for their own purposes. Institutions. If you access Evoluter through a coaching institute, college or organisation that holds an institution account, that institution can see your enrolment status, attempts, scores and progress within its own batch. Your

personal notes and private doubts are not shared unless you submit them to a faculty-assigned activity. Legal and safety. We may disclose data where required by law, court order, or a lawful request from a government authority, or where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, or to protect the rights and safety of users and the public. Business transfer. If Evoluter is involved in a merger, acquisition, restructuring or sale of assets, your data may transfer to the successor entity. We will notify you before your data becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy.

6. Where your data is stored

Your data is primarily stored on servers located in India. Some service providers may process data outside India. Where that happens, we transfer data only to countries not restricted by the Central Government under the DPDP Act, and we require contractual safeguards from the recipient.
